New Head Chef at TAK
Meet Hyun, our Head Chef at TAK.
With a team of around 30 chefs under his guidance, Hyun's day begins with a much-needed cup of coffee, setting the tone for the tasks ahead. It's a whirlwind of activity, blending creativity with operational finesse.
Arriving around 7-7:30, Hyun dives into the heart of the kitchen, greeting each chef and ensuring everyone is aligned for the day ahead. From catching up with the breakfast team to briefing the lunch crew, every moment is carefully orchestrated to maximise efficiency and quality.
While Hyun takes pride in being hands-on, he understands the importance of delegation, entrusting responsibilities to his capable chefs. This allows him to delve into administrative duties in the afternoon, overseeing menu development and catering arrangements.
Hyuns role is a dynamic blend of creativity and challenge. From crafting new dishes to navigating restaurant management, every day presents a fresh opportunity to inspire his team and uphold his values of integrity, discipline, and kindness.
Hyun's career has been a remarkable odyssey, shaped by passion, perseverance, and a dedication to his craft. From university graduation to the bustling kitchens of TAK, every experience has contributed to his growth as a chef.
For Hyun, it's not just about the destination but the journey itself—an ongoing adventure filled with learning, collaboration, and the joy of creating memorable culinary experiences for all who walk through TAK's doors.
When it comes to TAK favourites, Hyun really enjoys a meal in our Izakaya. The vibrant atmosphere, diverse flavours, and laid-back ambiance make it a cherished spot for him to unwind and indulge in culinary delights.
And here's a fun fact about Hyun: Despite his Asian heritage, he's not exactly a fan of rice. It's a quirk that adds a dash of personality to his culinary journey.
